Saving Faith (Day 16)

Something to keep in mind about today’s passage is that it comes in the context the author admonishing readers about the way they treat people. So, the question today is how is faith related to the way we treat others?

Listen to today’s Truth…

True faith will manifest through a life of loving others.

Read the following Scripture…

James 2:14-17 says, “What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.”

Consider these thoughts…

Faith in God has a consequence. It has an effect.
Your life doesn’t just get modified by what you do on Sundays. Genuine faith in Jesus Christ would lead to a life that is laid down for the things that He cares about.
True faith in Christ would not end with just you. It would be contagious. It would have an effect around others.

Apply the truth! The following are optional things to do…

  • Are you activating your faith?
  • In what ways can you live a life that actively loves others?

Pray…

  • To love like Christ.
