Saving Faith (Day 14)

It’s easy to settle with a “I’m good with God” sentiment simply because we live a well-behaved, Christian life.

Listen to today’s Truth…

Love is the ultimate sign of obedience to the Lord.

Read the following Scripture…

James 2:8-11 says, “If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing right. But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers. For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. For he who said, ‘You shall not commit adultery,’ also said, ‘You shall not murder.’ If you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker.”

Consider these thoughts…

Oftentimes, it’s easy to feel that we are at the pinnacle of our walk with Jesus simply because we attend the right services and do the right things for the church.
However, the ultimate message of God’s Law is love. You can avoid sexual sin, substance addiction, and a scandalous lifestyle, but if you are not able to love those around you, you are still breaking God’s laws.
A heart full of love for others is a testament to the power of the gospel in one’s life.

Apply the truth! The following are optional things to do…

  • How can you be a better lover of God’s people today? Apply!

Pray…

  • To love like Christ.
