Saving Faith (Day 13)

What draws you to a person?

Listen to today’s Truth…

Let us be drawn to those who have the favor of God.

Read the following Scripture…

James 2:5-7 says, “Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him? But you have dishonored the poor. Is it not the rich who are exploiting you? Are they not the ones who are dragging you into court? Are they not the ones who are blaspheming the noble name of him to whom you belong?”

Consider these thoughts…

Oftentimes, when we are in social settings, we are drawn to those who have certain careers, status, and lifestyles. Sometimes, it’s even just a look – a person can just look really appealing.
However, how about those that have none of these things? How about the awkward ones, the unattractive ones, the ones that are far from impressive?
The way we choose people should be the way the Lord chooses them. May we have the discernment to recognize the favor of God on others, rather than just the favor of man. Because at the end of the day, the favor of God and the favor of man is not the same thing.

Apply the truth! The following are optional things to do…

  • Ask the Lord if there is anyone in your life that you may be overlooking. Take a step to reach out!
  • Assess the way you choose the people in your life. Do you chose others for certain earthly qualities?

Pray…

  • For a heart that can see others like God sees others.
