Saving Faith (Day 10)

Intentionality is key for your spiritual growth. Spiritual growth does not just naturally happen if you remain passive.

Listen to today’s Truth…

A daily intention for obedience and sanctification is key to spiritual growth.

Read the following Scripture…

James 1:23-25 says, “Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.”

Consider these thoughts…

Spiritual growth does not just happen.
We tend to forget. It is in our human nature to do so. How many times have you felt the burning conviction for change during a Sunday service only to forget about such convictions by Tuesday morning?
Convictions for change must be held onto, nurtured, and remembered.  It is not a burden to do so because to live in His ways is to live in freedom.

Apply the truth! The following are optional things to do…

  • Recall some past convictions and make them relevant again!
  • Start taking sermon notes and making sure to re-read the notes mid-week.

Pray…

  • For ears to hear correction, eyes to recognize the areas in your life that need it.
  • For spiritual growth.
