Saving Faith (Day 2)

All throughout the Bible we see that God is pleased by faith and displeased by lack of faith. Sometimes, this confuses some that wonder why He would be so harsh with those that just can’t seem to trust Him wholeheartedly.

Listen to today’s Truth…

Faith is personal.

Read the following Scripture…

James 1:6-8 says, “But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.”

Consider these thoughts…

If you had a spouse that constantly doubted your character and questioned the goodness of your heart, would it be possible for the relationship to flourish? Never.
True faith is a deep trust in the goodness of God. Some see their faithlessness with a victim-mentality, and you hear things like, “I just can’t trust Him,” or “I just feel like He does not care,” or even, “I don’t think He hears me.”
However, the foundation of one’s faithlessness is a doubt that He is good. If anyone around you were to doubt in your goodness, you would surely take it personally. There would be no stability in your relationship.

Apply the truth! The following are optional things to do…

  • In what areas of your life do you ever doubt in the goodness of God? Surrender those areas.
  • Read more Scripture today and allow it to shape your thoughts. (ex: Psalm 23, Phil 4)

  • For a genuine faith in the goodness of God.
  • For a sanctified mindset.
