Saving Faith (Day 1)

Sometimes hardship feels like a bad consequence, a punishment, or rejection from God.

Listen to today’s Truth…

Hardship is an opportunity for more of God’s blessings.

Read the following Scripture…

James 1:2-5 says, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault.”

Consider these thoughts…

Pain is the great revealer of the heart. It reveals whatever darkness or ill-motives you may have been harboring. It also reveals areas of lack and weakness.
God is not absent during the trials you face. Rather, He is doing a great work.
In today’s Scripture, God asks us to invite Him into our areas of weakness or lack. He wants you to invite Him when you are disappointed, hurt, or afraid. Ask Him for help. He will give generously to you, without condition. He will not make you earn His favor. He will not make you beg for guidance. Rather, He will equip you and bless you, so that you will lack nothing.

Apply the truth! The following are optional things to do…

  • Invite God into your areas of pain and hardship today.
  • Freely ask God for wisdom in all aspects of your life today.

Pray…

  • For a maturity of the soul.
  • For perseverance through all trials.
