Wisdom Matters (Day 25)

I once read a great revivalist say that the greatest commodity on earth is not money, but, rather, peace.

Listen to today’s Truth…

Peace comes from the Lord.

Read the following Scripture…

Proverbs 17:1 says, “Better a dry crust with peace and quiet than a house full of feasting, with strife.”

Consider these thoughts…

Consider the areas in your life that demand you to strive, the areas that give you anxiety and stress.
Oftentimes, we tolerate these areas having this amount of power over us because we feel that once we meet its demands, we will have peace.
If I pass this exam, I will have peace.
If I please my boss, I will have peace.
If I am needed at church, I will have peace.
Your life could be filled with all the commodities that this world can offer, but it is only God that can provide peace. May your most valued commodity be the peace of Christ today.

Apply the truth! The following are optional things to do…

  • Take 2 minutes to re-center yourself with God every time you feel the pressure to strive in your flesh.
  • Invite the Spirit to bless you with peace multiple times today.

  • For a peace that can be felt by those around you.
