Wisdom Matters (Day 23)

God does not assess one’s life the same way humans do. Humans can only see the things that are done and accomplished. God sees what’s beneath all those actions.

Listen to today’s Truth…

The motives of your heart matter to God.

Read the following Scripture…

Proverbs 16:2 says, “All a person’s ways seem pure to theme, but motive are weighed by the Lord.”

Consider these thoughts…

It’s easy to follow the pace of your church and do a lot of Christian things. However, the matter of the heart is important to the Lord.
The “why” matters.
Today’s proverb reveals that one can all too easily go about doing what seems right and acceptable in society while ignoring one’s possibly selfish motives. It would be wise to avoid this pitfall!

Apply the truth! The following are optional things to do…

  • Do a heart reflection of why you do the things you do on a daily basis. Is it for God? Is it for love? Or is it because of fear? Because of pride?
  • Spend time repenting for any impure or prideful motives today.

  • For a pure heart.
  • For a heart that abounds in love.
