Wisdom Matters (Day 15)

There is a worldly wisdom and a godly wisdom. Even Satan had a sense of logic, and it drew in Adam and Eve in Genesis 3! There is a lure and draw to worldly wisdom that can easily lead one into the ways of destruction and death.

Listen to today’s Truth…

The mark of worldly wisdom is its blindness to evil.

Read the following Scripture…

Proverbs 9:16b-18 says, “To those who have no sense she says, ‘Stolen water is sweet; food eaten in secret is delicious!’ But little do they know that the dead are there, that her guests are deep in the realm of the dead.”

Consider these thoughts…

Worldly wisdom can make sense to anyone. It’s easy to fall for, and it leaves you numb to sin.
In today’s Scripture, the “she” is Folly, the thoughtless foolishness of humankind. It is a poetic way of demonstrating just how luring and deadly Folly is. In order to avoid her, one must be intentional about seeking God’s wisdom in all aspects of life.
When I was young, I was passionate for the anointing of God. I wanted to know His love and His power. It wasn’t until later in life, when I realized that a powerful life is also a wise one. If I were to minister to my younger self, it would be to pursue His wisdom just as much as I pursue His help in all matters.

Apply the truth! The following are optional things to do…

  • Ask the Lord if there are any areas of your life where your thinking is at odds with His. Once He reveals it to you, submit your ways to His.
  • Before pursuing anything today, take a pause, and ask the Lord for the wisest way to go about that endeavor!

  • In repentance for any areas of evil that you have become numb to.
  • For a heart that is always awake in truth.
