Wisdom Matters (Day 13)

Your view of God the Father affects every aspect of your life, especially the way you see His Church and read His Words.

Listen to today’s Truth…

It is important to know that He is so very, very good.

Read the following Scripture…

Proverbs 8:8 says, “All the words of my mouth are just; none of them is crooked or perverse.”

Consider these thoughts…

Perhaps it is because we live in a broken world and the idea of a “good God” is sometimes hard to grasp. However, you cannot have a functional relationship with God if you do not trust in His kind character and His grace.
It is hard to read the Bible if you already feel like God is a condemning God.
It is hard to listen to godly advice if you already believe that God is a distant disciplinarian.
But, words from a committed friend? Advice from a doting dad? Encouragement from the lover of your soul? Those are easy to receive, and that is why today’s proverb is important.
You have to know that He is good in order to best receive His words.

Apply the truth! The following are optional things to do…

  • Assess today if you carry any misunderstanding of God’s goodness.
  • Spend today Thanking God for all the ways that He is good.

Pray…

  • For deeper revelations of His goodness.
  • For deeper experiences with His love.
  • For others around you to know that He is good.
