Wisdom Matters (Day 9)

A busy person is not necessarily a diligent person.

Listen to today’s Truth…

The difference between a dreamer and a conqueror is excellent diligence!

Read the following Scripture…

Proverbs 6:6-8 says, “Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.”

Consider these thoughts…

I never considered myself a lazy person until the revelation hit me later on in my young adult years.  I had realized that I was actually a lazy person with a demanding lifestyle! I worked hard for short seasons, but when there were no expectations to meet, I would always crash. I was fueled by an adrenaline to perform, rather than a genuine, Spirit-filled discipline.
If you are the type of person that is only on top of it when there is a deadline or an important event ahead, then your diligence is not coming from a place of godly excellence.
You can test your true character when there is no audience, no due date, and no standard to meet. God’s wisdom calls us to be diligent without an overseer, to live excellently in all seasons. Clean when there are no guests. Go beyond expectation, if you will not be paid for it. Love well, even when the recipient may not notice. Because God notices. God sees.
Diligence cannot be limited to merely your school work or your work place. A diligent person applies this character trait to all aspects of life. This is what it means to be wise!

Apply the truth! The following are optional things to do…

  • Consider any areas in your life that are affected by laziness. Repent and apply diligence in those areas.

Pray…

  • For strength to overcome your flesh.
  • For wisdom for a fruitful life.
