Wisdom Matters (Day 6)

How you deal with money is a deeply spiritual activity. God addresses money quite often, in both the Old Testament and New. What is your relationship with money like these days?
Listen to today’s Truth…
Be generous to the Lord with your money, and you will always have enough.
Read the following Scripture…
Proverbs 3:9-10 “Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.”
Consider these thoughts…
Everything you have is a gift from God above.
The job that you have, the car that you drive, the clothes that you wear…
An awareness of this fact is necessary so that you never become entitled to your God-given resources.
Entitlement is the poison to generosity. It blinds you from having a kingdom perspective when it comes to money. The result is always a sense of lack, an endless feeling that you never have enough.
Today’s proverb commands us to give God our first fruits. That’s the best of what you have, the first cut of everything you receive – not the backwash of what’s left at the end of the month. This is tough to do if you feel entitled to everything you have earned. However, if you trust Him with what you have and are thankful for His provisions, then giving to Him and His works is a joy.
Those who cheerfully give, will always be rewarded.
Apply the truth! The following are optional things to do…
Check your giving. Do you faithfully tithe?
• Ask the Lord if there’s someone or something that He would like you to give to this month!
• Surrender all worry or fear that you may have in regards to your finances and provision.
For a vision for your finances.
• For a generous heart.
• For God to use your resources for His kingdom purposes.
