Wisdom Matters (Day 3)

Everyone needs to change. As long as you are a human being, you have room to be better, wiser, kinder, and more in love with God. The biggest stumbling block to these amazing changes is offense towards truth. If you were ever told the truth about the areas of weakness in your life, would you be eager to repent or would you be offended?
Listen to today’s Truth…
Repentance is key to deeper understanding.

Read the following Scripture…
Proverbs 1:23, “Repent at my rebuke! Then I will pour out my thoughts to you, I will make known to you my teachings.”
Consider these thoughts…
Repentance is not merely apologizing to God. It is acknowledging that you are wrong, and it is choosing to change.
Rebuke is not a setback. It is also not a letdown. Today’s culture takes the mantra “Accept me for who I am,” to an extreme level that God did not intend. If you encounter a realization at anytime that there is an area in which requires repentance, embrace it!
The reward? God will pour His thoughts onto you. He will not just give you His wisdom. He will pour it out! You will be filled with His blessings.
Apply the truth! The following are optional things to do…
• Every night, choose to spend at least 10 minutes in repentance.
Make a choice to be teachable and not offended.
Do not avoid deeper intimacy with the church community or your church pastors simply because you are afraid of rebuke. Draw closer to them!
• For more wisdom and understanding in your life, in everything that you do.
For the joy of experiencing forgiveness.
For grace to grow.
